FOUR SEASONS BIRTHDAY CARD

Good afternoon all. I have a lovely card today for you all to peek at. This one is so out of my normal comfort zone and took me about 2 hours to make. I really struggled with the sketch I was using and also the colours, but I am quite happy with how it turned out.  I am entering this one into SU Only Challenges - Autumn/Spring  and  Just Add Ink  141 Colour Challenge. Funnily I was also entering it into a sketch challenge but silly me forgot about time differences. I also gave a similar card to my good friend Michelle for her birthday. I hope she had a great day.

FREE TUTORIAL
Cut paper to 5x5 inches
Using Simply Scored Diagonal plate score A (2 opposite corners make A sides) sides at 1 ¾ inch lines. Do this for both A sides. Rotate paper. Score only one B side ( other 2 coners make B sides) at 2 ¼ inch mark. Fold B score over to form the bottom of the pocket. A sides are folded over to form the sides.
Then cut a strip of DSP 1” x 5”. This forms the stripe around the body of the pocket. Lastly stamp any image, cut out and adhere to the front. Lastly put your Freddo Frog in the pocket

SIMPLY SCORED BOX FOR C6 CARDS - TUTORIAL

Welcome to another edition of Tuesday's Tips & Techniques.
Today after much anticipation I have the Tutorial for you to make these nifty little gift boxes that you have all been looking at on my blog of late. This one is a new one which I am also entering into this weeks Just Add Ink Challenge -  Just Add Chevrons.  So below is my finished  Gift Box for C6 size cards.
Scroll through for the free tutorial.

1. Cut 2 sheets of Cardstock to 8 1/4' x 6 1/2'. I have used Stampin' Up! Bashful Blue.
2. Score all four sides of one sheet at 1 inch mark on Simply Scored as shown in the photograph below.
This sheet of cardstock becomes the bottom of your gift box.
3. Next using the second sheet of cardstock score all four sides at 7/8' on Simply Scored. This is one indent back from 1' mark. This sheet become the top of your gift box.

4. Cut into one side of the score marks to form tabs. See photo below. Fold along all score lines.
Then using an adhesive, I used Tombow, glue the tabs together to form your box sides

5. So now you have your completed gift box with a card inside. All that is left to do is decorate the top.

6. My Cherry Cobbler topper measures 6 ' x 4 1/4'

7. My Festival of Prints Patterned paper is 5 3/4' x 4'.

I hope you like my gift box and the free tutorial. If you found this helpful please leave a comment as I enjoy knowing that I have helped someone with their with their papercrafting. Stampin' Up! Blender Pen - Fix Missing Spots in your stamped images

Welcome to Tuesday' Tips and Techniques. Today I will share with you how to fix those less than perfect stamped images. You know the ones where the ink has just missed a small portion and have ended up with less than perfect coverage on your card stock. So here is the simple way to use a Stampin' Up! Blender Pen to "fill in" the gaps without having to start over.

1. Put a little of the ink colour you have used with your less than perfect stamped image onto a plastic sheet or the lid of your stamp pad. You can do this by pressing down on the pad  firmly.
2. Pick up some of the colour on your blender pen
3. Then apply this colour to the portion of the image that is less then perfect  blending it and"filling in" the gaps. Wallah one fixed image.

More Tips
* For better ink coverage with stamps,  turn the stamp so it is rubber side up and add ink with the pad   facing down.  I keep patting ink on the rubber stamp until I can see that it is evenly covered.

* I have tried to use a marker to touch-up less than perfect images.  The markers can leave a dark, noticeable spot where you have corrected.  The Blender Pen Tip is a is just that, blended and you can control how much ink goes on. Hope you enjoyed today's tips and techniques.

TUESDAY'S TIPS AND TECHNIQUES - STAMPIN' WRITE MARKERS

Welcome to the first of Tuesday's Tips and Techniques.

Each Tuesday I will pass on a handy tip or technique. Todays tip is for Stampin' Up! Many Marvellous Markers or Stampin' Write Markers. Did you know that you should store your markers horizontally as shown in the photograph. I found this out the hard way last week. I had my new 2012-2014 In Colour markers sitting in my craft tub on my desk. I went to use Primrose Petals and could barely get it to write on the fine tip side. Solution. I just turned it up the other way for a day and it worked again thankfully. I have now put them in with my Many Marvellous Markers which are stored the correct way.
Stampin Write Many Marvellous Markers  including case as shown are $189.95 with 38 markers
Stampin' Write Markers in either Brights or Subtles are $45.95 with 10 in a pack
Stampin Write Neutrals Markers - $39.95 with 8 in the pack
Stampin' Write In colour Markers - $25.95 with 5 in the pack.
